Kosovo confirmed for Mediterranean Games football tournament

It was recently reported that Kosovo could be excluded from football competitions at the Mediterranean Games 2026, raising doubts about a disagreement between the Olympic Committee of Kosovo and the Football Federation of Kosovo regarding team representation and organization.

However, this situation has now been fully clarified, ending the uncertainty. Kosovo will participate in the football tournament at the Mediterranean Games, which will be held in Taranto, competing in the women’s U18 category, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Sources within the Football Federation of Kosovo told KosovaPress that the U18 girls’ team will take part in the competition, marking another important international appearance for Kosovar football.

The Olympic Committee of Kosovo also confirmed to KosovaPress that Kosovo will be part of the football program of this edition of the Games.

The Mediterranean Games 2026 will take place from August 21 to September 3, 2026, in Italy, bringing together more than 20 participating countries from the Mediterranean region.
