Bulgarian volleyball player Aleks Grozdanov was placed as the 8th best player in the world for 2025 by the Volleyball World.

The middle blocker enjoyed success both at club and national level. As Bulgaria's captain, he helped the team reach the World Championships final for the first time in 55 years, winning the Best Middle Blocker award after finishing with most blocks completed in the competition, CE Report quotes BTA.

In Poland's PlusLiga, he was the second-best blocker this year, helping Bogdanka LUK Lublin secure the Polish League title.

"Quiet authority. Absolute control at the net. A leader who lets his game do the talking, Aleks Grozdanov was a defining presence in the middle all season long," Volleyball World noted on Facebook.

As reported by CE Report, volleyball World is a commercial partnership between Federation Internationale de Volleybal (FIVB) and private equity firm CVC Capital Partners aiming to drive the commercial success and global reach of volleyball. So far, the outlet has announced only the players ranked 10th to 8th. Slovenian Jan Kozamernik (No. 9) and Czech Patrik Indra (10th) occupy the two other places.
