Borussia Dortmund star fined over weapons possession
Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi has been fined 450,000 euros after prohibited weapons were found in the possession of him and his partner, Loredana Zefi.
According to Bild, the incident dates back to about a year ago, when police found “two objects classified as prohibited weapons” among the couple’s belongings, leading to the initiation of criminal proceedings. A German court imposed a heavy fine on Adeyemi, which will be paid in 60 installments of 7,500 euros each, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Adeyemi has not commented publicly, while through his manager Jorge Mendes it was clarified that the weapons were not purchased by them, but were part of a “mystery box” ordered via TikTok—an explanation that does not change the legal responsibility for possession.
Borussia reacted immediately with an official statement, emphasizing that it is in continuous communication with the player and the authorities, but did not confirm whether internal disciplinary measures are expected.
The German Football Federation (DFB) may review the case, but a severe punishment is not expected, as the incident involves possession and not use of weapons.
