Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz set for Hyundai super match in Incheon
Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will face each other in an exhibition match in South Korea this January, as part of their preparation for the 2026 Australian Open, organizers announced today.
The two leading stars of world tennis — who have won nine of the last ten Grand Slam titles — will play at the Inspire Arena in Incheon on January 10, eight days before the start of the year’s first Grand Slam tournament at Melbourne Park, CE Report quotes BTA.
The event, backed by sponsors, is titled the “Hyundai Card Super Match.”
In previous years, the exhibition series in South Korea has featured some of the sport’s biggest names, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Pete Sampras, and among women, Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams.
Organizers have not yet announced the prize money for the upcoming event.
Sinner and Alcaraz met in three of the four Grand Slam finals this season, and also faced each other in the title match at the “Six Kings of Slam” exhibition tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Sinner claimed the trophy and $6 million in prize money.
The Italian also won the Paris Masters last night, reclaiming the world No. 1 ATP ranking from Alcaraz, who was eliminated earlier in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the Spanish player captured the US Open title this year, defeating Sinner in the final — a victory that had briefly returned him to the top of the ATP rankings.
The two also met in the epic French Open final in June, won by Alcaraz in five sets, before Sinner avenged that loss by winning the Wimbledon title a month later.
