New Masterplan to Transform Flamurtari Stadium and Surroundings
The “Flamurtari” Stadium is set to be transformed into a modern sports arena and become a key hub for Vlora’s sports, social, and economic life, as part of a broader development masterplan, CE Report quotes ATA.
Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu shared on social media today that the stadium will serve the city and emphasized the importance of the project.
According to him, the plan goes beyond the stadium itself and includes the construction of a modern public swimming pool and a new sports palace for the city of Vlora.
“The project to transform ‘Flamurtari’ Stadium into a completely new and modern arena for the city is part of a masterplan that envisions the development of a wider area beyond the public property. In addition to the stadium, it includes a new public swimming pool and a new sports palace,” Vengu stated.
He added that the project balances modern architecture with historical heritage.
“The winning project from the international competition, built on public land, features contemporary structures that will bring new vitality to Vlora’s social and economic life. Designed by XDGA, Consulting and Management Albania ltd, Jeshile Landscape, Bollinger + Grohmann Sarl, and Ledia Kostandini, the project reflects a beautiful architectural concept in harmony with the city’s rich historical heritage, cherished by all Albanians and people worldwide,” Vengu wrote.
