
Moldova celebrates muaythai gold at World Games 2025
Moldovan athlete Artiom Livadari won the gold medal at the 2025 World Games, held from August 6 to 10 in Chengdu, China, in the Muaythai competition. The event brought together the world’s top eight athletes, qualified based on their results from the 2024–2025 season, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the European Games 2023 champion and 2024 IFMA world champion in the 81 kg category, Livadari competed in a higher weight category in China since his usual category was not included in the program.
On the first day, the athlete defeated the 2024 world champion in the 86 kg category, Croatian Vito Kosar. In the semifinals, he overcame the host country’s representative, Zhang Chengcheng, and in the final, he defeated American Aaron Ortiz, the previous edition’s winner and three-time world champion.
The performance in Chengdu strengthens Artiom Livadari’s position among the world’s top Muaythai athletes and brings a historic success to the Republic of Moldova in this sport.
