Croatian shooters extend medal streak at European Championship
Croatian shooters continued their string of successes at the European Shooting Championship in Châteauroux, France, with Josip Glasnović winning gold and Giovanni Cernogoraz claiming silver in the new trap solo discipline.
Just two days earlier, Cernogoraz, along with Anton and Josip Glasnović, secured team silver in the trap event, CE Report quotes HINA.
The all-Croatian final in the trap solo guaranteed two medals for Croatia in this newly introduced event. In the final showdown, Josip Glasnović came out on top against Cernogoraz. The bronze medals went to Tomasz Pasierbski of Poland and Erik Varga of Slovakia.
The entire trap solo competition proved highly engaging, with the first Croatian duel taking place in the quarterfinals when the Glasnović brothers faced off. Josip defeated Anton and continued his winning streak all the way to the top of the podium.
Croatia will have another medal opportunity in the trap trio event, scheduled for Wednesday.
