Bulgaria’s top tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, will miss the 2025 US Open due to injury, his manager Georgi Stoimenov confirmed to TennisKafe. The tournament runs from August 24 to September 7 in New York, CE Report quotes BTA

Dimitrov suffered a partial tear of his right pectoral muscle during a fourth-round Wimbledon match against world No. 1 Jannik Sinner. He had won the first two sets and was tied in the third when he was forced to retire. This will be his fifth consecutive Grand Slam withdrawal due to injury.

Currently ranked No. 20, Dimitrov’s absence ends his streak of 58 consecutive Grand Slam appearances since the 2011 Australian Open. He is expected to return for the Asian Swing in late September, including the Shanghai Masters in early October.
