Grosu highlighted the recent gold medal by Adil Osmanov at the World University Games in Germany and praised the country’s performance at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Skopje, where Climentii Ursu claimed two golds in the 10m air pistol event, while judokas Gabriela Herța and Alexandra Chiron took bronze.

“These young people are raising Moldova’s name on the world stage,” said Grosu, pledging continued government investment in sports.

Over the past three years, Moldova has increased its sports budget by 80%, renovated 133 facilities nationwide, and doubled scholarships for top athletes — with the highest now reaching 65,600 lei per month.
