Odegaard sends emotional message to Arsenal fans
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard delivered an emotional message to supporters after a narrow victory over Burnley moved the Gunners closer to the Premier League title.
Kai Havertz secured the win for Arsenal in the 37th minute, heading home from a Bukayo Saka corner after Leandro Trossard had earlier struck the post. The important victory moved Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table, increasing pressure on Manchester City ahead of their midweek clash against Bournemouth, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Speaking to the Emirates crowd after the club’s final home match of the season, Odegaard expressed his pride in the team and outlined Arsenal’s ambitions to win trophies.
“I’m really proud. It has been an amazing season so far. We still have a big end to the season and then the Champions League final, and we want to bring the trophies home. I can promise everyone that we will give everything we have and continue fighting until the end, and with your support we will be ready,” Odegaard said.
The victory marked another milestone in Arsenal’s impressive progress under manager Mikel Arteta, who has transformed the Emirates into a fortress, with 32 clean sheets in all competitions this season.
Arteta also reflected on the club’s journey and thanked supporters for their passionate backing.
“It is an absolute joy to witness the transformation and the contribution every one of you has made to turn this place into the best place to enjoy and play football. This is the spirit of this football club. Make sure every time you enter this stadium you keep these standards because it makes a huge difference for us and the players,” Arteta said.
Arsenal will officially be crowned Premier League champions if Manchester City drop points against Bournemouth, although their domestic title fate remains in their own hands.
