Ivan Ivanov Tops Junior Tennis Rankings

Bulgarian tennis talent Ivan Ivanov topped the International Tennis Federation’s World Tennis Tour Junior Rankings on Monday after winning the Wimbledon juniors title without dropping a set. He is only the second Bulgarian male to win a Grand Slam junior trophy, following Grigor Dimitrov’s 2008 Wimbledon juniors victory, CE Report quotes BTA

Before Ivanov, Dimitrov was Bulgaria’s only junior world No.1, with Todor Enev reaching No.2 in 2000 behind Andy Roddick. Ivanov’s success also earned him a spot in next year’s Wimbledon singles qualifying draw. He turned professional in 2023 and has played mostly at ATP Challenger level so far.

Another Bulgarian, Alexander Vasilev, is ranked fourth after reaching the Wimbledon juniors semifinals. American Benjamin Willwerth, with Bulgarian roots, is fifth.
