Bulgarian rising star wins Wimbledon Junior Championships

Bulgarian tennis player Ivan Ivanov made history on Sunday by winning the Wimbledon Junior Championships, becoming only the second Bulgarian ever to do so after Grigor Dimitrov in 2008.

The 16-year-old didn’t drop a single set throughout the tournament and claimed the title with a 6-2, 6-3 win over American Ronit Karki, CE Report quotes BTA

Ivanov, ranked No. 6 in the ITF junior rankings, secures his first Grand Slam title following a semifinal finish at Roland Garros. Fellow Bulgarian Alexander Vasilev also reached the semifinals but was defeated in three sets.
