Popovici Takes Bronze in 50m Freestyle at U23 Euros
Romania’s David Popovici won the bronze medal in the men’s 50m freestyle at the European Aquatics U23 Championships in Samorin, Slovakia, finishing in 21.86 seconds on Friday, CE Report quotes Agerpres
Portugal’s Diogo Ribeiro claimed gold with 21.67, while Ukraine’s Vladislav Buhov took silver in 21.74.
Popovici had earlier won gold in the 200m freestyle, and teammate Denis-Laurean Popescu secured gold in the 100m butterfly.
Romania is represented by 13 swimmers at the championships, held from June 26 to 29.
