The Bulgarian government has allocated an additional BGN 4 million to support youth centres in eight municipalities, Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev announced after Tuesday’s Council of Ministers meeting, CE Report quotes BTA

Each of the municipalities—Stara Zagora, Burgas, Plovdiv, Gabrovo, Montana, Vratsa, Dobrich, and Pernik—will receive BGN 500,000. The funding aims to ensure the sustainability and development of the centres in line with the National Youth Strategy (2021–2030).

The funds are part of the Cabinet's governance programme and support initiatives under the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism.

Funding will continue in 2025, and a long-term programme for 2026–2030 is in development to secure the ongoing growth of youth initiatives.
