This Thursday, UEFA held its 49th ordinary Congress in Belgrade, led by Alkander Ceferin, the president of European football's governing body. It was announced that Ceferin's salary will increase again for the 2023/2024 season.

Since taking office, according to official figures published in UEFA's financial report, Ceferin's salary has been steadily increasing. The UEFA president earned a gross total of 3,250,000 Swiss francs last season—roughly 3.4 million euros. That represents an increase of 375,000 Swiss francs, or 435,000 euros, compared to the previous season, marking a 13% increase in just one year. The figures, taken from official UEFA documents, show the extraordinary increase in Ceferin's remuneration, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Ceferin's salary has been on an upward trajectory since he became president in the 2017/2018 season when he earned 1.56 million Swiss francs - around 1.35 million euros. Over the following six seasons, until 2023/2024, his income has increased, culminating in the current figures.

This increase amounts to a staggering 108% increase in Swiss francs from the 2016/2017 season to the 2023/2024 season, with an average annual growth rate of 9.6%. Ceferin began his presidency with an annual salary of 1.560.000 Swiss francs, which remained the same for the following season. To date, he has amassed nearly 19 million Swiss francs, which is equivalent to around 18.1 million euros.
