King Charles heads to US with heightened security
King Charles III has departed for the United States along with Queen Camilla for a four-day state visit, accompanied by enhanced security measures following the shock of the failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The news was reported by the British newspaper The i, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Meanwhile, the United Kingdom’s ambassador to Washington, Christopher Turner, stated that “all appropriate security measures” have been put in place to protect the royal couple during the visit.
The tour includes a speech by Charles III before Congress, a state dinner at the White House, and a stop in New York, where they will visit the 9/11 Memorial, before continuing on Thursday to the British overseas territory of Bermuda.
