Trump’s Board of Peace draws interest from 20 more countries
The White House spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, announced today that another 20 countries have “submitted requests to join the Board of Peace of U.S. President Donald Trump.”
Leavitt did not name the countries that have applied, U.S. media reported.
Although the Board of Peace received a mandate from the United Nations Security Council only to oversee the administration of Gaza over the next two years, the Trump administration aims to use this body to resolve other conflicts around the world, CE Report quotes MIA.
Speaking at a press conference at the White House, Leavitt also said that the return of the last remaining Israeli hostage from Gaza is a “major foreign policy achievement” for Trump, Israel, and the entire world.
The Israeli military has returned the remains of the last remaining Israeli hostage held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, fulfilling a key condition for the start of the second phase of the U.S. president’s plan to end the war in Gaza.
The remains of the hostage, Ran Gvili, have been identified and returned for burial, the Israeli military said.
