Albania, Kosovo enhance military cooperation

The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, met with the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji.

According to the announcement, Lieutenant General Jashari expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant General Kingji for his leadership in commanding the Albanian Armed Forces (AAF) and for the fraternal support and assistance provided to the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).

The meeting also touched on current security developments and the role of the KSF in ensuring Kosovo’s security, emphasizing its vital contribution to regional stability, CE Report quotes ATA.

“During the meeting, both generals praised the KSF’s progress in development and modernization, as well as the performance of the troops in terms of interoperability during multinational exercises. They also emphasized the importance of AAF support for the ongoing development of the KSF, particularly in education, training, and the exchange of experiences, aiming to further enhance bilateral cooperation,” the statement said.

For his part, the Chief of General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, in a media statement, emphasized that the meeting covered current developments in the security field, as well as the progress of bilateral military cooperation.

“In this context, I expressed my appreciation to Lieutenant General Jashari for his leadership and the readiness shown in enhancing cooperation and joint military activities. I reaffirmed the unwavering support and commitment of the Armed Forces to strengthening operational capabilities, maintaining security and stability, and fulfilling our shared obligations and responsibilities in the region,” Kingji’s statement concludes.

At the end of the meeting, the generals reiterated that enhancing cooperation between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania and the Kosovo Security Force is a key national strategic priority. They also emphasized that strengthening defense capabilities is crucial for ensuring regional security and stability.
