Croatian soldiers excel at Norwegian Foot March in Poland
Members of Croatia’s 16th contingent in NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence in Poland achieved top results at the Norwegian Foot March military competition at the Bemowo Piskie training area, the Defence Ministry said.
More than 300 soldiers from the multinational battlegroup in Poland, comprising troops from the United States, the United Kingdom, Romania, Croatia and Poland, took part in the 30-kilometre march, CE Report quotes HINA.
Corporal Matea Findrik was the fastest female competitor, completing the course in four hours and 20 minutes. Corporal Karlo Ciban took second place overall with a time of three hours and six minutes, while Staff Sergeant Antonio Fabijan finished fifth in three hours and 32 minutes.
The Norwegian Foot March, one of the most demanding military endurance events with a tradition spanning over a century, tests physical strength and resilience.
The ministry said the Croatian soldiers’ performance demonstrated their high level of training, discipline and readiness, as well as their ability to operate on equal footing with allied forces.
