Fascist terrorist Gilberto Cavallini loses semi-liberty status
The semi-liberty granted to Gilberto Cavallini, 73, a former member of the NAR (Fascist Terrorist Group), has been revoked, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Cavallini was sentenced to life imprisonment in January for his involvement in the 1980 Bologna train station bombing, which resulted in 85 deaths.
The decision was made by Fabio Gianfilippi, the surveillance magistrate in Spoleto, following a request from the Bologna General Prosecutor's Office.
Cavallini, who had been serving his sentence in Terni prison, saw his semi-liberty revoked after the Bologna Appeals Court redefined his sentence, adding three years of isolation, with one more year following his recent conviction.
The isolation remains to be executed, and according to the magistrate, it is incompatible with the semi-liberty status.
