Top CIA Russia expert abruptly dismissed after Trump-Putin summit
Four days after the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, the CIA’s top expert on Russia, who had worked tirelessly with the president’s team to prepare the meeting, was suddenly dismissed, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The news was reported by the Washington Post, which did not reveal the agent’s name to protect her safety.
In just a few minutes, her 29-year public service career was essentially over — despite being in line for a promotion in Europe, already approved by CIA Director John Ratcliff.
Her dismissal is believed to be part of a broader effort led by Tulsi Gabbard and Trump to remove national security professionals allegedly involved in the “politicization of intelligence to push personal, partisan, or biased agendas.”
This was emphasized by the Director of National Intelligence, who announced on August 19 via X (formerly Twitter) that security clearances were revoked for 37 individuals, on the order of the president.
