
Greece Reaffirms Support for Western Balkans' EU Path
During a visit to Athens by North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis reaffirmed Greece’s support for the Western Balkans’ European integration, stressing the importance of regional stability and cooperation, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
Gerapetritis emphasized the full implementation of the Prespa Agreement and noted Greece’s ongoing role in backing North Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic path, including its 2020 NATO accession. The ministers highlighted strong bilateral ties in trade, energy, and infrastructure, and agreed to deepen cooperation through the EU’s Western Balkans Development Plan.
As a UN Security Council member, Greece pledged to work with all partners, including North Macedonia, for international peace. Mucunski praised Greece’s continued support for his country’s EU ambitions and expressed gratitude for Greek solidarity during recent emergencies.
