Moldova Warns of Russian Provocations

Politics

Government spokesperson Daniel Voda warned on Monday of increasing provocative actions by Russia targeting Moldovan citizens. In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel alert, citing real risks for Moldovans in or traveling to Russia, including limited access to consular services, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Voda noted that Russian institutions frequently release unverifiable and distorted information, calling for public caution in interpreting such messages. He emphasized that these actions are part of a broader effort to destabilize Moldova and drag it into informational provocations.

“Moldova will remain focused on protecting its citizens and maintaining peace and unity,” Voda said, urging Moldovans in Russia to stay in contact with the Embassy in Moscow.

The warning comes shortly after Russia’s FSB claimed to have detained a Moldovan citizen in Ryazan on charges of espionage for Ukraine, allegedly on behalf of Moldova’s intelligence services. The FSB provided no further details.
