Mitsotakis Calls for Unity, Promises Growth

During a speech in Thessaloniki on Thursday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis warned of the dangers facing Greece amid multiple regional crises. “We cannot afford to return to times we politically want to leave behind,” he said, urging national unity, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia

Highlighting Greece’s growing international influence, he praised the country’s improving economy and strong Armed Forces. He encouraged citizens to await major announcements at the Thessaloniki International Fair in 2026, stressing that economic growth will continue to benefit those most in need.

Mitsotakis also announced upcoming infrastructure projects in Thessaloniki, including a metro extension to Western Thessaloniki, a new flyover set for completion in early 2027, and what he called “the most beautiful paediatric hospital in Europe.”

While mingling with locals, the prime minister confidently predicted a win for New Democracy in the next parliamentary elections, scheduled in two years.
