The Israeli Air Force has shot down an Iranian plane that was refueling at the airport in Mashhad, in the far northeast of Iran, CE Report quotes Kosova Press

This is the most distant target so far since the start of the Israeli operation - the airport in Mashhad is located 2300 kilometers from Israel, near the border with Turkmenistan.

A large fire is seen at an airport in northeastern Iran after an Israeli airstrike, according to reports in Iran.

"The air force is operating to establish supremacy in Iranian airspace," the IDF said, adding that the attack on Mashhad was the most extensive since the start of the operation.

Footage on social media shows thick clouds of smoke rising from the airport runway.
