Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed Ankara’s readiness to help mediate the Iranian nuclear dispute during a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, Türkiye’s Communications Directorate said Sunday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Erdogan emphasized that diplomacy is the only viable solution and offered to take on a facilitative role. This was the leaders’ second phone conversation in two days.

The Turkish president welcomed Trump’s recent calls for peace between Iran and Israel, warning that further escalation could lead to regional catastrophe. He condemned the violence triggered by Israel’s strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites, which have killed key Iranian figures and prompted retaliatory attacks.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, said Iran and Israel "should make a deal, and will make a deal," adding that talks were ongoing.

A sixth round of indirect nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, scheduled for Sunday in Muscat, was canceled following Israel's attacks. Washington continues to demand that Iran halt its uranium enrichment, while Tehran insists its program is purely peaceful.
