Greece Unveils Digital Platform for Modern Art

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis highlighted Greece’s vibrant contemporary art scene during a presentation of a new app at the National Museum of Contemporary Art. Speaking with Amit Sood, director of the Google Cultural Foundation, Mitsotakis said, "When people think of Greece, they usually picture ancient landmarks like the Acropolis, not modern art. This app will change that perception."

The app offers easy access to contemporary art exhibits, helping to promote Greece’s cultural present alongside its historic past. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of protecting artists’ rights amid the rise of digital and AI-created art. He also sees technology as a vital tool for education, health, and economic recovery in Greece, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

“We are a dynamic country with energy that fosters new forms of artistic expression,” Mitsotakis added, highlighting the bright future ahead for Greek art and innovation.
