The situation in the Western Balkans, with a special focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be one of the topics at the upcoming European Council (EUCO) meeting, thanks to an initiative by Croatia, announced Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on the social media platform X.

As part of the preparations for the meeting, Plenković had a phone conversation with European Council President Antonio Costa, during which they also discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, migration, and strengthening the European Union’s competitiveness, CE Report quotes FENA.

"I am pleased that the situation in the Western Balkans, with a special focus on Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be on the agenda, which was an initiative by Croatia," Plenković emphasized.

The European Council meeting will take place at the end of June in Brussels, where EU member state leaders will discuss foreign policy and security challenges, as well as the future institutional structure of the Union.
