Nearly 53,000 Romanians Vote Abroad

Around 52,700 Romanian voters have cast their ballots abroad by Friday 1:00 PM Romanian time, during the second round of the presidential election, according to the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), CE Report quotes Agerpres

Of these, 49,559 voted in person since polls opened Thursday at 10:00 PM, while 3,139 voted by mail. The countries with the largest Romanian voter turnout were Moldova (11,324), Italy (7,148), the UK (6,162), Spain (5,687), and Germany (5,597).

Voting abroad continues over three days—from Friday to Sunday—with 965 polling stations available for Romanians overseas, regardless of residency status. Real-time data is accessible at prezenta.roaep.ro.
