
Greece and Egypt to Deepen Strategic Ties

The visit marks a significant step in strengthening the strategic partnership between Athens and Cairo, positioning both countries as key pillars of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean amid ongoing geopolitical shifts.
Discussions will focus on expanding cooperation in politics, trade, investment, energy (including the GREGY electricity interconnector), climate action, defense, migration, education, and culture. A Joint Declaration is expected to formalize these initiatives.
The two leaders will also address regional developments in Gaza, Syria, and Libya, reaffirming their commitment to international law and regional stability. This follows a series of high-level meetings between Mitsotakis and El-Sisi over the past year, underscoring Greece’s central role in EU-Egypt relations and Mediterranean security.
