A Patriot air-defense system that was based in Israel will be sent to Ukraine after refurbishment. Four current and former U.S. officials said that Western allies are also discussing the logistics of Germany or Greece providing another system, according to a report by The New York Times published on May 4.

The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the discussions, declined to describe President Trump’s view of the decision to transfer more Patriot systems to Ukraine.

General Directorate of Public Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an exclusive interview with CE Report clarifies that information about the transfer of the Patriot system from Israel has not been officially confirmed.

"No representative of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has provided official comments on this matter. The primary source of information is "The New York Times" with reference to officials who wished to remain anonymous", informed Ukraine's Armed Forces.

According to the source, the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Yuriy Ignat, announced on the air of the all-Ukrainian telethon "Yedyny Novyny" the other day that Ukraine needs more modern air defense
equipment.
