The deal was signed with Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, who emphasized that the system will enhance the national defense and security for both Greece and its citizens. Thorax, funded with €48.95 million from the Recovery Fund, will collect and process data from various sensors, including radar, UAVs, and electronic sources, across multiple agencies like the Armed Forces, Police, and Civil Protection.

Dendias explained that the system will classify and prioritize data using artificial intelligence, helping responsible agencies make more informed decisions. Theodorikakos also mentioned upcoming development laws aimed at boosting economic growth and reducing regional inequalities, especially in border areas, where Thorax will improve security operations.
