Erdogan Condemns Israel's Attacks on Gaza

Politics

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned Israel's recent attacks on Gaza during phone calls with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof on Tuesday. Erdogan described the attacks as "unacceptable" and urged the international community to halt Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "genocide policy" while stressing the need for a ceasefire, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

In his discussions with Stubb, Erdogan reiterated Turkey's commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Finland, particularly in defense and counter-terrorism efforts. He also highlighted Turkey's ongoing push for peace in the Ukraine conflict, calling for Russia to accept a ceasefire.

During his conversation with Schoof, Erdogan emphasized the importance of a ceasefire and the urgent need for support in resolving the Ukraine crisis. Both leaders discussed security in Europe and the need for cooperation between their nations in trade and the economy.

This comes as Israel's military continued heavy bombardment of Gaza, causing significant casualties and breaking the ceasefire with Hamas that was agreed upon in January.
