Politics

The Kremlin confirmed on Wednesday that both Moscow and Washington agree on the need for a personal meeting between the Russian and US presidents, though no date has been set, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the summit must be carefully prepared, with expert-level talks ongoing between foreign ministries. These discussions will pave the way for a future high-level meeting.

Peskov also stated that there are no immediate plans for another phone call between Putin and Trump, though it remains a possibility as Russia-US dialogue continues.

Meanwhile, Peskov addressed reports on potential European peacekeepers in Ukraine, clarifying that Moscow has not discussed Chinese troop involvement. Regarding a possible US-Ukraine agreement on rare earth metals, he noted that no official announcements have been made but suggested that new developments may emerge following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the US later this week.
