Moldovan Leaders Congratulate CDU/CSU on Election Victory

Moldovan President Maia Sandu and Speaker Igor Grosu congratulated Germany’s CDU/CSU and its leader, Friedrich Merz, on their victory in Sunday’s parliamentary elections, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Sandu praised Merz as a "good friend of Moldova" and emphasized Germany's crucial role in Europe's strength, expressing hope for deeper cooperation. Grosu also hailed the win as significant for Germany, Europe, and global democracy.

The German conservative bloc secured between 28.5% and 29% of the vote.
