President Maia Sandu Honors Rescuers and Firefighters, Acknowledges Heroic Efforts: Concurrently, President Maia Sandu of the Republic of Moldova extended her heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated rescuers and firefighters during an event commemorating their professional holiday. Reflecting on their unwavering commitment to public safety, President Sandu lauded their heroic efforts, which have saved countless lives and prevented untold disasters.

Highlighting a recent incident at a capital high school, where 10 fire crews swiftly responded to extinguish a raging fire, President Sandu commended the swift and efficient evacuation of approximately 1900 children and staff, averting any casualties. In recognition of their exemplary service, the President conferred state distinctions upon deserving individuals from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, acknowledging their professionalism and selfless dedication in the face of adversity.
