Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he considers the controversy around Speaker Szymon Holownia’s recent "coup d’état" comments closed, after Holownia clarified he had been pressured to delay the swearing-in of president-elect Karol Nawrocki, CE Report quotes PAP

Tusk acknowledged Holownia’s explanation, calling it likely a “misunderstanding,” but criticized the Speaker’s undisclosed meetings with opposition Law and Justice (PiS) politicians, labeling them a "serious mistake." He emphasized coalition stability depends on responsible actions.

Holownia is expected to be questioned soon as a witness, following a request from lawyer Bartosz Lewandowski. Outgoing President Andrzej Duda confirmed he will meet Holownia next week, ahead of Nawrocki’s inauguration, despite the ongoing debate sparked by the Speaker’s statements.
