LOT Buys 40 Airbus Jets
At the Paris Air Show on Monday, LOT Polish Airlines announced a major fleet renewal with the purchase of 40 Airbus aircraft, including A220-100 and A220-300 models, with an option for 44 more. The deal, hailed as a "historic milestone" by Airbus, was unveiled alongside Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak and LOT CEO Marcin Fijor, CE Report quotes PAP
Fijor emphasized that the new, energy-efficient jets will enhance LOT’s competitiveness in Europe and support its future role as a key player at the upcoming Central Transportation Port (CPK), set to open in the 2030s.
Deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2031, replacing the airline’s aging regional fleet. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called it “the biggest investment for the Polish national carrier,” underscoring ambitions to build a European aviation leader.
