North Macedonia's ministry details multiple domestic violence arrests nationwide
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia announced that during the past 24 hours, police officers received seven reports of domestic violence and detained six people.
In Skopje, in the Karpoš area, police officers from the Skopje Internal Affairs Unit (SVR Skopje) arrested B. G. (41) from Skopje at 17:50 yesterday for physically assaulting his 43-year-old wife at home the day before and issuing threats.
A relevant report will be filed after the case is fully documented, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia's official website.
Today at 00:40 in the Skopje area, SVR Skopje officers arrested N. D. (45) from Skopje for physically assaulting his 41-year-old wife at home yesterday, damaging household items, and later threatening her with sharp objects. According to the report, their daughter and son suffered cuts while trying to take the sharp objects from him. A report will be filed after the case is fully documented.
At 04:10 today, SVR Skopje officers arrested N. K. (40), a Croatian national, at a residence in the Centar area for physically assaulting his partner O. K. (37) from Ukraine and her sister, issuing threats, and damaging property. At 09:00, N. K. also reported that he had been physically attacked by his partner O. K., who allegedly attempted to attack him with a sharp object. The case will be further investigated.
In Kumanovo, a social worker reported yesterday at 16:00 that a 13-year-old boy was psychologically abused by his father and expelled from home. The minor will be placed in foster care, the public prosecutor has been informed, and measures are underway to clarify the case.
Police officers from Kičevo arrested S. S. (26) following a report by a 27-year-old woman that she was physically assaulted by her ex-husband S. S. and another individual, Ć. D. The case is under investigation and charges will follow.
Today, police officers arrested D. S. (33) from the Ohrid region after a 24-year-old wife, currently in divorce proceedings, reported that on the night of April 12/13, 2026, he forcibly took her mobile phone, physically assaulted her, and forced her into his vehicle, where he continued the assault and caused injuries. A criminal complaint will be filed after documentation.
In Bogdanci, officers from SVR Strumica – OVR Gevgelija arrested a 37-year-old resident at 01:15 today after a report that he physically assaulted his 26-year-old wife at around 22:00 the previous day in their family home. He is being held at the Gevgelija police station, and the public prosecutor has been informed. A report will be filed after the case is processed.
