Abuse Alleged as Streamer Dies During Live Show
Over 10 days of uninterrupted live streaming on the Kick platform, abuse of all kinds by his "friends", and then Jeanpormanove — stage name of Raphael Graven, 46 — died live in front of thousands of followers, CE Report quotes ANSA.
An investigation was immediately launched, starting with the interrogation of his "friends" known as "Naruto" and "Safine", who, on the Twitch rival platform, subjected him to extreme challenges, torture, and survival tests — including ingesting toxic substances.
It was these same accomplices and tormentors who found him lifeless and finally decided to end the livestream, after his lifeless body had been visible to thousands of viewers for 10 minutes.
Jeanpormanove was a well-known figure on social media, especially TikTok, where he had 582,000 followers.
He was a true enthusiast of extreme challenges, to the point of leaving Twitch — a platform where he risked being banned due to stricter rules — in favor of Kick. There, he was able to multiply the challenges that kept thousands glued to his streams: choking, violent blows to the body and face, paint poured over his head, and more.
On social media, shortly before his death, many users described increasingly cruel abuse being inflicted on him by his accomplices. Prosecutors are being cautious, while the streamers' legal teams claim it was all "staged" and that what appeared to be torture was not real.
Clara Chappaz, France's Digital Minister, spoke of "absolute horror", saying Jeanpormanove had been "humiliated for months on live stream."
