Donald Trump, speaking in Pittsburgh on the sidelines of an event, stated that most likely starting August 1st, tariffs will be imposed on imported medicines into the U.S., CE Report quotes ANSA.

Shortly after, the American president added that tariffs could also be applied to semiconductors.

"They will probably come into effect at the end of the month. We will start with lower tariffs to give pharmaceutical companies a year to adjust. And if they don’t, much, much heavier tariffs will come in the future. The same approach and a similar timeline will be adopted for semiconductor manufacturers," the president said.
