Blind Gdańsk sound recordist named one of the most inspiring women in the world
Listed alongside such icons as Michelle Obama and Amal Clooney, blind sound recordist Izabela Dłużyk has been named by the BBC as one of the most inspiring women in the world. CE Report quoting The First News
In their justification, the BBC wrote: “Tape recorder in hand, Izabela Dłużyk sets out to capture the extraordinary sounds of Białowieża, one of Europe's oldest and best-preserved forests, in Poland.
“The field recordist is unusual not just because she is a young woman in a profession dominated by men, but because she has been blind since birth.”
