Bulgaria’s Ministry of Tourism will host a national conference on investment and health tourism development in spring 2026, Deputy Minister Iren Georgieva announced at the 2nd Air, Sea and Climate – Health Strategies symposium in Sveti Vlas, CE Report quotes BTA

The event, organized with the World Travel and Tourism Council, will be based on a socio-economic analysis highlighting Bulgaria’s strengths in medical tourism. Georgieva emphasized that health tourism leverages the country’s natural resources for sustainable development and public well-being.

A working group has been formed to outline strategic directions, with the full analysis expected in September. The symposium gathered leading medical experts and promoted the revival of sanatorium treatment and use of Bulgaria’s healing climate for managing chronic lung conditions.
