Moldova discusses EU accession reforms with European Parliament envoy
Ongoing reforms and the next steps in the European Union accession process were discussed in Chișinău by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Estonian MEP Sven Mikser, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for the Republic of Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
The officials addressed progress in the areas of justice, anti-corruption efforts, and the strengthening of democratic institutions, as well as the upcoming stages in the accession negotiations.
"I was pleased to meet in Chișinău with Estonian MEP Sven Mikser, who is also the European Parliament’s rapporteur for the Republic of Moldova. At the end of his mission in our country, we discussed the reforms currently being implemented and the steps we will take in the accession negotiation process," said Cristina Gherasimov.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the meeting reaffirms the authorities’ commitment to maintaining close dialogue with European institutions and continuing the reforms necessary for Moldova’s EU membership.
