Energocom purchased a total of 333,493 MWh of electricity in April at a weighted average price of €110.85/MWh.

For comparison, in March, the company bought 381,513 MWh at a higher average price of €130.75/MWh, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

Electricity demand was covered through both domestic sources and imports. In April, 62.82% of the total volume came from imports. Of this, 37.45% was acquired through bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania and Ukraine, while 25.37% was purchased via platforms such as OPCOM and BRM on the day-ahead market.

Domestic production accounted for 37.18% of electricity needs in April. Of this share, CET-Nord and Termoelectrica provided 14.05%, while renewable energy parks and plants contributed 23.13%.

According to Energocom, the procurement costs do not include additional expenses such as transmission fees, capacity reservations, and other logistical costs.

Since January 1, 2025, the right bank of the Dnister River has no longer received electricity from the Cuciurgan Power Plant after Gazprom halted natural gas supplies to Moldova. As a result, electricity consumption is now covered through domestic production and imports.
