Shakira takes Copacabana stage after Madonna, Lady Gaga
After Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga last year, it is Shakira’s turn to take the stage set up on the legendary Copacabana Beach on May 2 for a spectacular free concert in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian city announced.
“‘Hips Don’t Lie’ and the city confirms it: Shakira at Copacabana on May 2,” the authorities posted on social media platform X.
This is a reference to the famous song by the Colombian singer, Hips Don’t Lie, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
The announcement ends weeks of speculation and anticipation about whether Shakira would perform on Brazil’s iconic beach during this annual May event, which is also aimed at attracting tourists during the “low season.”
