The Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte performed a piano duet for a Christmas ceremony, BBC reports.

Mother and daughter did not perform live at the “Together at Christmas” event at Westminster Abbey earlier this month, CE Report quotes ATA.

Their performance of a piece by Scottish composer Erland Cooper was pre-recorded at Windsor Castle last week specifically for the Christmas Eve broadcast on ITV1.

Kensington Palace shared the clip ahead of the program with a video showing the two of them sitting together at the piano playing “Holm Sound,” a piece they apparently know well and have enjoyed playing together at home.

The Princess of Wales used only her left hand, while Charlotte played only her right hand in the Windsor Castle hall.

Reflecting on the video, Catherine emphasized that “essentially, Christmas is about love taking shape in the simplest and most human ways. Not in sentimental or grand gestures, but in nature. A moment of listening, a word of comfort, a friendly conversation, an outstretched hand, a presence.”

“These simple acts of care may seem small, but they contribute to the beautiful tapestry of life to which we all belong,” she added.

This is not the first time Catherine, who has completed her third year of piano and fifth year of theory, has performed through music.

At the inaugural 2021 event, she surprised the audience by accompanying singer and composer Tom Walker on the piano while he sang his Christmas song “For Those Who Can’t Be Here.”
