Türkiye’s most-watched films of 2025: Full top 10 list
According to data compiled from Box Office Türkiye, a total of 539 films—362 of them new releases—hit cinemas over a nine-month period, attracting a total audience of 25,905,320 viewers.
The most-watched film of 2025 was “The Anatomy of an Abstract Expressionist Friendship, or Side by Side,” which was released on 14 November, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
As reported by CE Report, directed by Mert Baykal and starring Feyyaz Yiğit, Haluk Bilginer, and Hatice Aslan, the film surpassed the 2 million viewer mark in five weeks, reaching 2,231,911 viewers. Its box office revenue amounted to 525,749,000 Turkish lira.
“Rafadan Tayfa: Cappadocia”
The film “Rafadan Tayfa: Cappadocia” became the second most-watched production of the year. Released on 27 December 2024, it was seen by 1,714,066 viewers in 2025. Its total audience reached 2,308,117, while box office revenue exceeded 389 million lira.
The fifth film based on TRT Children’s animated series Rafadan Tayfa, it follows the adventures of Hayri, Kamil, Sevim, Hale, Akın, and Mert in Cappadocia. The film was directed and produced by İsmail Fidan, who also helmed the previous four installments.
“A Minecraft Movie”
Ranking third among the most-watched films was the action-adventure title “A Minecraft Movie.” Directed by Jared Hess, the film was watched by over 1,007,000 people and generated 224,813,000 lira in revenue.
“Uykucu”
Directed by Can Ulkay and starring Çağatay Ulusoy, Elçin Sangu, and Barış Falay, “Uykucu” ranked fourth. Released on 29 October, the film attracted 820,263 viewers and earned 156,842,000 lira.
“Sihirli Annem: We Are All One”
Directed by Mustafa Kotan and written by Gamze Özer and Arzu Yurtseven, “Sihirli Annem: We Are All One” was the fifth most-watched film. Starring İnci Türkay, Nevra Serezli, and Şahap Sayılgan, it was seen by 817,896 viewers and generated 169,304,000 lira.
“Zootropolis 2”
The animated film “Zootropolis 2,” directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, ranked sixth. Focusing on the chaos that unfolds when Judy and Nick return to Zootropolis, the film reached 791,691 viewers and earned more than 177,665,000 lira.
“ŞamPİYONlar”
Starring Murat Yıldırım, Erdal Özyağcılar, Büşra Pekin, Ezo Sunal, and Mert Ege Ak, “ŞamPİYONlar” ranked seventh, drawing 702,622 viewers and earning 106,932,000 lira.
“Kardeş Takımı 2”
Directed by Bedran Güzel, “Kardeş Takımı 2” became the eighth most-watched film of the year with 675,291 viewers. The film’s box office revenue reached 124,771,000 lira.
“Sonic the Hedgehog 3”
Jeff Fowler’s animated film “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” ranked ninth. The movie attracted 618,923 viewers and generated 124,542,000 lira in revenue.
“Kral Şakir: Worlds Collide”
The animated film “Kral Şakir: Worlds Collide,” directed by Haluk Can Dizdaroğlu and Berk Tokay, ranked tenth. The story follows Şakir and his team as they travel through different worlds to stop an AI-controlled music band from hypnotizing the city. The film drew 564,520 viewers and earned over 108,653,000 lira.
