The creative residency “Opera Butuceni” in Moldova has opened its first exhibition, bringing together works by students from the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design of the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University.

The paintings, created during a creative residency held in Butuceni, were presented to the public at the institution’s headquarters, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The works were produced following a plein air working experience, under the guidance of professor Alexandru Alovațchi. For many of the young artists, participation in the residency represented a first direct encounter with the landscape, light, and atmosphere of the place, later translated into pictorial compositions inspired by nature and personal emotions.

Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan emphasized that the institution he leads will continue to support initiatives that promote artistic education and youth involvement.

“The Ministry of Culture will continue to support projects that encourage collaboration, the development of active cultural spaces, and bringing culture closer to people, offering young artists real opportunities for affirmation,” Cristian Jardan stated.

As reported by CE Report, the exhibition is part of the project “Opera Butuceni – Cultural Agenda 2025,” funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and implemented by the National Association for Inbound and Domestic Tourism (ANTRIM). Throughout the year, the project has included creative camps, exhibitions, concerts, and educational activities aimed at promoting the region’s cultural and artistic heritage.
