Widow of Charlie Kirk shares late husband’s touching love letter
The widow of Charlie Kirk has shared a touching message written by her late husband, as well as one of his last wishes, just one month after he was killed on September 10, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
A little more than a month later, Erika Kirk posted an intimate message that Charlie Kirk had written to her on Instagram, revealing that her murdered husband, the founder of the organization Turning Points USA (TPUSA), used to write her a love letter every Saturday.
"He never missed one. I’m sharing this with you… not to make anyone feel like they must do the same thing for their husband or wife, but to encourage you. To show that when your husband loves you as Christ loved the church, you have a deeper respect for him, a deeper love," wrote the 36-year-old Erika in her post.
The last loving message Kirk left for Erika was: "I pray to God to save America and that somehow we can play a small role in it. I know it must be very hard for you at home with the kids, but you’re doing a great job balancing it. I am so in love with you and want to serve you in every possible way. I love you!"
After Kirk's death, Erika was appointed the new leader of Turning Points USA. However, the former Miss Arizona has faced criticism for what some have described as a seductive and public display of grief.
Erika responded to this by telling the public: "There is no script for grief,"— a point she repeated when she published the letter. "I’m not sharing this with you to prove anything. I’m sharing it with the hope that today, men will be inspired to be better men, and women to be better women."
She ended with an emotional note: "I would give anything to have a Saturday morning breakfast with my husband, asking how we could better serve one another in the coming week… so if you’re reading this and have that blessing, please use it — for me."
It is worth noting that the perpetrator of Kirk’s murder, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been charged with seven crimes, including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.
